About Tanya
Hi there! I’m Tanya, a registered dietitian living with celiac disease. I know firsthand how challenging it can be to navigate life with this condition on your own. My journey with celiac disease began in 2005, and it has been a transformative experience.

This life-changing diagnosis ultimately inspired me to pursue a career in dietetics. I didn’t feel I received the support I needed at the time, and I was determined to change that for others. My journey to becoming a registered dietitian started with earning a Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition (Honors Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics) from the University of Western Ontario, followed by a Master of Public Health from the University of Toronto.
After completing my education and internship requirements, I passed the Canadian Dietetic Registration Exam (CDRE) in November 2018 and have been a registered dietitian since 2019.
Soon after, I began my career as a retail dietitian, a role I held for four years. This experience was invaluable, allowing me to work with clients one-on-one, lead group sessions, conduct media interviews, give presentations, and collaborate with pharmacy teams, among other things. I’m incredibly grateful for all I learned and believe this experience was the perfect foundation before venturing into private practice.
Now, I’m thrilled to embark on this next chapter, where I can fully dedicate myself to supporting others living with celiac disease.
Outside of my work as a dietitian, I love nature hikes, exploring new places near and far, watching inspiring films, listening to podcasts, trying new restaurants, spending quality time with family and friends, enjoying a good beach day, cooking (minus the dishes), and baking delicious gluten-free treats!
